The property gîte and bed and breakfast in beaune

A place and its story

A FAMILY HISTORY

L’escale de Jules & Lily – the story of a family.
Our story … Having travelled and lived and absorbed the exotic flavours of several countries, we finally decided to settle down in Burgundy, just outside Beaune.

A place for our children to settle down and grow up, a place for us to settle down and to welcome visitors.

And so, L’escale de Jules & Lily has flourished. Perhaps your stay with us will have an impact on your life too – a stopover, a chance meeting, a moment shared or the occasion to make a declaration.

Allow yourself to be seduced by the different worlds and different settings …

New for 2020: heated pool from May 1!

FOR EPICUREANS

Hedonists, epicureans, lovers of wine or savvy connoisseurs, come and stay in one of the **** guest rooms in the main house or in our charming gîtes.

Built in 1925 by one of the former presidents of the famous French bank BNP, the owners created a unique and extravagantly luxurious residence for the period: marble fireplaces in every room, oak herringbone parquet floors, signed hand-painted ceilings, figures carved into the walls, a vaulted cellar, high ceilings, a monumental oak staircase and the traditional Burgundian roof with glazed tiles…

Because of its height, L’escale de Jules & Lily overlooks all the houses of the village, the only exception being the Romanesque church next to which it was constructed.

In 2018 L’escale de Jules & Lily was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from Tripadvisor, a Golden Award from Booking.com as well as recommendations from the Petit Futé, the Guide du Routard, and Elle Magazine …

BIKE OR TANDEM MOUNTAIN BIKE RENTAL

L’escale de Jules & Lily is located 3 kilometres from Pommard, Meursault and just a little further from Beaune, Volnay and Monthélie. When you stay here, you are just a few kilometres from the greenway: www.la-bourgogne-a-velo.com

In Burgundy, greenways comprise almost 1,000 kilometres of delineated and secure cycling routes reserved for cyclists and cycle tourists, the majority of which are part of the vast regional route, the Tour de Bourgogne à vélo®. This includes greenways and cycle routes, most often on towpaths along the canals, but also along old railways or on small roads or paths through the vineyards. Almost every kilometre provides a surprise worthy of a detour – a castle, a chapel, an inn, a village, a wine cellar, a canal lock – and you will happen upon more and more professionals who have signed a Quality Charter and have committed themselves to offering services and equipment adapted to the specific needs of cycle tourists.

Price: €20 per person per day – expect to pay a €200 security deposit
